Dear Reader,

I admire strong women!
Those are the women that just always keeps on going. They never give up in the face of adversity. They are the single women (and often single moms) that battles to make ends meet and raise their kids on their own. Or the women who have lost a husband, trying to pick up the pieces of a broken life and build a new future for themselves. Or a lot of women that needs to work full-time and still run a household and raise their kids. Juggling their work demands with the schedules of their kids. And women that has been abused or the victim of a violent crime. Dealing with the trauma and just trying to get through every day.
So, what is the characteristics of a strong women?
Strong women are often vulnerable, but they don’t see it as a weakness. They are prepared to go out in the world and do what they need to do to survive and accept the risk that they might get hurt in the process.
They often doubt themselves and their abilities but will still go out and face the things they fear. Whether it is taking classes to improve their skills, driving in traffic and strange areas even though they have a bad sense of direction. Standing up and speaking their mind even when your knees feels like jelly…
Strong women are the definition of courage!
Strong women respect others and believe in kindness. They won’t trample on others to succeed. And they will reach out and help others in need.
And even though sometimes they might falter – that doesn’t mean they are weak. They just have the wisdom to be kind to themselves as well. And to find the support they need. Whether it is through therapy or a talk with a trusted friend or sister. They know that they need to look after themselves first in order to be able to care for those that are dependent on them.
To all the strong women out there – I salute you!
And now, dear reader: Today reach out and find a way to honor all the strong women you know!
Thanks for reading,
Susan
